
This soup will cure the common cold! Get out your slow cooker!
1/2 lb lean pork cut into strips (opt.)
1 t. sesame oil
1 pkg shitake muchrooms, sliced
1/4 t. red pepper flakes
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 C. firm tofu, cubed (1/2 pkg)
1 can bamboo shoots, sliced
2 1/2 C. chicken broth
2 T. soy sauce
2 1/2 C. water
2 T. rice wine vinegar
1t-1T hot chili sauce
green onions, chopped (for garnish)
In a slow cooker combine all ingredients except garnish, cover and cook on low 7-8 hours OR high 4-5 hours. Serve hot, garnish with green onion.
Can add thawed wontons or prawns near then end if desired.
