
These are also known as Mexican Wedding cakes or Russian Tea Cakes
1 C. butter
1 egg yolk
1 t. vanilla
2 1/4 C. flour
1/4 t. salt
3/4 C. walnuts or pecans, finely chopped
Mix butter sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Measure flour and stir together with salt. Blend into mixture. Mix in nuts and chill dough1/2 hour.
Heat oven to *400 roll into 1" balls place close together on un-greased cookie sheet, (cookies do not spread). bake 10-12 minutes until set but not brown. While warm roll in powdered sugar (sifted). Let cool and roll again. Makes 4 dozen. Freezes well.
